At Aura, we understand the heartbreak of losing a loved one which is why we have made the memorial jewellery process as painless as possible.
Each beautiful handmade piece is lovingly crafted in house, in our on site workshop to your exact specifications to create a piece as unique as you, and as unique as the memory of your loved one.
Our hope is that you will find some small comfort in having your loved one with you forever, encapsulated within the most precious piece of jewellery. Our memorial jewellery service involves an initial friendly consultation.
Here we can set time aside to sit down with you and talk through your initial inspirations and design ideas, to ensure the finished piece of jewellery is just as you had envisaged.
Our expert jewellers will be able to guide you through the options from colourful resins to secret chambers filled with the hair or ashes of your loved one.
Colourful resins
Our extensive choice of colours span from red, yellow, orange, blue, green, pink, purple, brown, black and everything in between. We mix our coloured resins by hand to ensure the perfect hue is achieved in order to meet your preferences.
Your loved ones' ashes are then carefully and meticulously applied to your chosen resin. A final layer is applied to encapsulate the ashes, protecting them with a hard and durable coating. When the item is completed, the colourful resin has the appearance of a glossy gemstone with flecks of ashes suspended within.
Secret chambers
As an alternative to our colourful resins, we can apply hair or ashes to a secret chamber that only you know about.
Your loved ones’ hair or ashes are carefully and meticulously placed within a secret chamber - concealed within the piece of jewellery - before adding metal on top to permanently seal the chamber. The location of the chamber is discussed during the design process, so you know exactly where it is hidden.
To provide a little extra comfort and to alleviate any niggling worries you may still have, we will send regular updates on the progress of your item throughout the making process.
When applying the hair and ashes, we work in a sterile environment, where one item is worked on at a time. Any unused hair and ashes are always returned to you alongside your item at the end. You can rest assured your loved ones are handled with the utmost care and respect.
